What our graduates & parents say
Dance R Studio was only my studio for a few years, but it quickly became my home. The teachers and dancers there are some of the sweetest, kindest, and most accepting people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it truly feels like we are one big family. From the youngest to the most senior, everyone there is connected and looks out for one another, in class and at performances. Of course, the teaching quality is of the highest calibre, and every dancer is encouraged to flourish. No matter the skill level, everyone receives personal attention and corrections, and is able to shine. I will never forget the drastic difference in my dancing and in my mental health between my first days at Dance R and my final ones. I was able to blossom into an artist, and learn to love myself and the world around me. Every single one of the teachers truly wants everyone to succeed, and the connections formed are ones that will last a lifetime. I cannot recommend Dance R Studio highly enough, and I will always think of the studio as a second home for the rest of my life.

Graduating Dancer of 2018-2019The years I spent at DanceR Studio were some of the best years of my life! The teachers are exceptional and the creativity they show in their choreography is outstanding. We were given so many opportunities to participate in competitions and community events both locally in other cities. My fellow dancers and teachers were like my second family and we shared so many memories together. It is wonderful to see how the studio continues to thrive and every dance season the students get better and better.

AlumniThe first day we walked into DanceR Studio to find a place for my son to dance, we immediately felt at home. My son started dancing 4 years ago and my daughter joined 1 year after him. It has become a second home and it provides a wonderful intimate family feel. Both of my children are passionate about the arts, and receive exceptional training in a positive environment, where personal goals are met and individuality is appreciated. The studio is recognized regularly at competitions for its supportive manner, which reflects the teachers positivity during classes. A small studio with a big heart.

ParentDue to being in the military, we have been at a number of dance studios since my oldest child began dancing at 3. We arrived at DanceR Studio Sept 2016, and very quickly realized that this was the best studio we had ever encountered. Walking in the doors you can feel the positive atmosphere and you can see smiles on everyone’s faces. Miki was happy to answer all our questions and made us feel we were welcome from her first words. All DRS staff truly care about each and every one of the dancers, providing top quality instruction and individual attention to help them develop into the dancer they want to be. Over the last 2 years I have watched my child blossom and her passion for dance return. DanceR Studio may be small, but it is definitely mighty and THE place to dance in Orleans.

ParentDance R studio is such an amazing studio. My daughter has been going for a number of years now and every single class blows me away. The amount of knowledge and skill the instructors have is quite literally unbelievable. The entire studio is so well run and organized the competitions and recitals are fluid; from the training the the final show. More than just knowledge and skill in all forms of dance; my daughter has created lasting friendships as well as a deeper understanding of the importance of practice and teamwork. A second family is what this studio feels like and I as a father could not be happier with my choice to bring my daughter here. The owner is an active participant in all of the classes the studio provides. From the very young children all the way up, the owner is there sharing her knowledge and her vision. To highly recommend this studio would be an understatement, in my opinion any other choice would be a lesser opportunity for your child’s enjoyment, knowledge, and skill in any form of dance.

Dance/Prop DadI graduated from DRS three years ago. I spent my entire competitive dance training at this studio. The love for dance that was given to me over the course of 8 years of training is what inspired and moved me to become a professional dancer. Now in my training of professional dance, I am thankful for the foundation of technique, work ethic and artistry I learned during my time at DRS. Miki and all the teachers have been extremely influential as to the dancer I am today. They always created an open, artistic and supportive environment for me to explore my own art and creative energy. I am forever thankful for everyone at DRS for everything they’ve done for me.

AlumniMy daughter started dancing under the guidance of Miki Whyte at the age of 3. Now 17 and a recent graduate, I look back on these past years and realize just how lucky we are to have found DanceR Studio and a dance director who believes in giving her students every opportunity to do what they love to do…dance!
From participating in local charity fundraisers, opening events, surprise birthday celebrations to larger venues, such a Walt Disney World (twice), Broadway and Carnival Cruise Lines, my daughter has been given the opportunity to do it all.
If you are looking to be a part of something greater, DanceR Studio is your studio. It’s not just about competing and winning awards, it’s about giving your child opportunities that other studios do not offer. It’s about being a family and having the love and support from every child and parent. It’s about making memories that will last a lifetime.
Forever grateful.
