Miki Whyte, Artistic Director, founded DanceRStudio in 2007. Miki’s dance education began at the age of 7 at Elaine Hunter Dance School where she fell in love with dance. Growing up, she trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical and Hip Hop. She would later add to her experience by attending The School Of Dance Contemporary Program and joining the Culture Shock Ottawa dance troupe.
When she was 23, Miki would not have believed the opportunity of running her own business-one that she is absolutely passionate about- would come to fruition. With over 13 years of teaching experience, Miki is exuberant about the school, the students and has developed a unique and effective teaching style. Miki is versatile and has devoted herself to the world of dance and the creation of choreography ever since. With over 100 students attending classes and participating in shows and competitions throughout Canada and occasionally the United States, Miki is currently in the process of developing innovative approaches to marketing, to raise the level of awareness of the school and to increase the student base. This includes advertising and participating in various local and international events.
Miki has been a part of so many events and has loved every busy moment of it. It takes a lot of hard work, time and serious dedication to be an inspiring director for all of her wonderful students. allowing her to teach, inspire and educate all your talented dancers brings her dreams to reality. The single most important and motivating part of her job as director, is seeing all the dancers grow to have increased self worth and become more confident than when they first stepped through her doors.
