Ashlyn began dancing at the age of 3 with Elaine Hunter Dance School. At the age of 5, she joined DanceR Studio. Ashlyn believes DanceR Studio is like a second home to her, where she has trained under Miki Whyte for 12 years.
During her years as a student, she danced competitively with DanceR Studio for 12years. Ashlyn has trained in a variety of different styles of genres including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical and Contemporary. Here, she also had the opportunity to dance on the Carnival Cruise Line and at Dance The World: Walt Disney World’s parade twice. In 2015, she was awarded a Be Discover Scholarship which allowed her to train under many professional choreographers and dancers in New York City and dance on Broadway.
While Ashlyn has always loved to perform, she also loves sharing her passion for dance through teaching and choreographing. She loves her dance family at DanceR Studio and is very excited to be able to continue to teach and encourage others to develop their talents. She has enjoyed assisting and now teaching her own classes in Early Childhood and Ballet. Ashlyn is excited to share her knowledge and love of dance with the students at DanceR Studio.
In the fall, she will be attending Carleton University to obtain her bachelor degree in Forensic Psychology and Law.
